Add-ons are an addition to Killer Powers and Survivor Items Items}}.


Overview

This Article presents an overview of all Add-ons featured in the Game. For more detailed information, such as the numbers behind the adjectives, please refer to an Add-on's respective Article.

Add-ons boost specific aspect of a Killer's Power and a Survivor's Item when equipped.

Players can equip up to two Add-ons at the same time, however, it is not possible to equip the same Add-on twice.

Add-ons are single-use only and generally lost after a Trial.

  • This can only be prevented through the following means:

Stacking

Add-ons which affect the same part of a Power will generally stack with one another (both positive and negative effects).

Older Add-ons used to mention if they would stack or not. Newer Add-ons of more recent Killers do not mention this anymore unless they specifically do not stack.

Add-on Order

Unlike a popular myth amongst the Community, the order in which Add-ons affecting the same part of a Power or Item are put into the two slots does not matter in terms of how strong the resulting effect is going to be, due to how the game handles those modifiers.

Mouse-over Functionality

On desktop browsers, the Wiki supports mouse-over functionality for the modifier words used in the description of most Unlockables (slightly / moderately / considerably / tremendously). Hovering over them with your cursor will reveal the values behind those modifiers (Mac Users may need to highlight the modifier words).

On mobile browsers, the values are displayed in small text after the modifier words. Desktop users experiencing issues with the mouse-over may temporarily switch to mobile view.


Add-on Series

Killers tend to have Add-on Series, several Add-ons with similar effects, that increase in effectiveness and power the higher their Rarity class is.


Add-ons from Chests

Using the Perk Ace in the Hole Ace in the Hole}}, a Survivor will find Items Items}} with Add-ons attached to them.

Any Power

The Blight Serum Add-on is unique as it can be applied to any Killer's Power that was released up to CHAPTER XVII: Descend Beyond.
It can only be used and obtained during the The Eternal Blight Event.

  • Unlocks 1 Token to use on the Blighted Rush ability, which replaces your Killer Power until consumed.

Press the Power button to initiate a Blighted Rush, allowing you to quickly dash forward, consuming 1 Token.

  • Cannot attack during a Blighted Rush.
  • 1 Token is recharged whenever a Survivor is hooked.
  • When used by The Blight Blight}}, instead increases available Rush Tokens by 1.

Blight Serum is only playable during the Eternal Blight Event.

The Afterpiece Tonic The Afterpiece Tonic}}

The Afterpiece Tonic is The Clown's main Power: throwing a bottle will release a cloud of intoxicating smoke once it breaks. Survivors passing through the cloud will be affected with blurred vision, slower movement speed and coughing fits, amongst various other afflictions based on the chosen Add-ons.

Bear Trap Bear Trap}}

The Bear Trap is The Trapper's main Power and also his secondary weapon: Bear Traps are found lying around the map. They can be picked up and set down mostly anywhere. Traps are not armed until picked up and placed. The Trapper starts the game with a single trap in his hands, and can only carry one at once unless using Add-ons.

The Blackened Catalyst is The Hag's main Power: she bends and shapes mud to her will. With simple ritualistic drawings, she creates deceitful duplicates of herself made from mud and decay which she can use for various effects.

Disfigured Ear The cannibal village deaf boy's ear. Deformed due to several hits to the head. The trapped life essence within unlocks tremendous potential in The Hag's power.
  • Survivors who trigger a Phantasm Trap are deafened for 6 seconds.
Waterlogged Shoe}}
Waterlogged Shoe A child's shoe, long lost in the bog's waters. The trapped life essence within unlocks tremendous potential in The Hag's power.
  • Survivors within the Phantasm Trap range suffer from the Hindered Hindered}} Status Effect.
  • Slightly increases The Hag's Base Movement speed.
  • Removes The Hag's ability to teleport to tripped Phantasm Traps.

Waterlogged Shoe trumps all other Add-ons.

Mint Rag A small piece of cotton torn from the dress worn by Lisa Sherwood on the day she disappeared. The trapped life essence within unlocks tremendous potential in The Hag's power.
  • The Hag can teleport to any Phantasm Trap on the Map at will, with a cool-down of 15 seconds in-between Teleports.
  • Tripped Phantasm Trap Teleportation remains unchanged.

Bubba's Chainsaw Bubba's Chainsaw}}

Bubba's Chainsaw is The Cannibal's main Power and also his secondary weapon: it shares a lot of the Chainsaw's abilities and Add-ons. The Cannibal can charge it up to break into a crazed sprint, wildly swinging his Chainsaw around, putting any Survivor unlucky enough to come in contact with it into the Dying State Dying State}}. Can hit multiple targets on a single charge.

  • Hits with either Bubba's Chainsaw or the Chainsaw do not automatically trigger the Dying State Dying State}}.
Chainsaw File
Chainsaw File A file whose purpose is to hone Chainsaw chains.
  • Slightly reduces Tantrum duration.
Long Guide Bar
Long Guide Bar A sturdy iron replacement bar for long chains.
  • Slightly increases Bubba's Chainsaw Revving threshold for triggering a Tantrum.
Primer Bulb
Primer Bulb Pumps more gas in the ignition system to ensure a quick and powerful start.
  • Moderately increases Chainsaw Sweep Recharge speed.
Knife Scratches
Knife Scratches Scratches cover the Chainsaw's body, caused by a searing blade. Memories of reprimands fill its holder with the fear of failure.
  • Slightly increases Chainsaw Sweep Movement speed.
  • Slightly increases Chainsaw Sweep Charge time.
Homemade Muffler
Homemade Muffler A makeshift exhaust system made of black gas pipes.
  • Moderately reduces Tantrum duration.
Chilli
Chilli A big bowl of steaming Chilli to keep you fresh and strong.
  • Slightly increases Chainsaw Dash duration when a Charge is consumed.
  • Slightly increases Chainsaw Dash Window.

The Grease
The Grease A thick yellowish ooze, concocted by the Sawyers. Used for all-purpose lubrication around their house.

The Wailing Bell is The Wraith's main Power: the Wailing Bell holds ancient powers, both with good and bad consequences. It allows its user to enter and walk the Spirit World when rung. When cloaked, The Wraith has no Terror Radius, meaning that Survivors do not hear a heartbeat, and The Wraith's Stain is also gone. The Wraith walks moderately faster when cloaked, making up for his inability to interact while in this state. The sound of the Bell is very loud, but can only be heard at a close distance to The Wraith. The accompanying *wooosh* sound, indicating a full uncloak or cloak, is heard by those within 40 metres of range. The volume of the Bell can be reduced with Add-ons.

The Map is an Item that is used to track and mark props in the World. The standard map can only track Generators, but can track different props as well with the use of Add-ons that enhance its power. You can even make the tracked Auras Auras}} visible to other Survivors and create markers that look like a pillar of bright light.

Unusual Stamp A wooden stamp with a cross-hatched rubber pad used to mark documents. It is unclear as to how or by whom this stamp was originally used. Can be used with a map.

Retardant Jelly A slimy, translucent substance with a ghastly lavender shade. This jelly from unknown origin is highly resistant to heat.

Glass Bead A strange bead circled with gold that can be used to magnify the map and mark a specific position. The bead emits an energy which can be felt and seen by Survivors.

Crystal Bead An intricate set of lenses wrapped up in an astonishingly complex apparatus. The gears controlling the lenses' focus move by themselves as to focus on something invisible to humans.

The Med-Kit is an Item that is used to heal yourself and other Survivors. Other Survivors can also be healed without the use of a Med-Kit, but it takes considerably longer.

Without the use of Self-Care Self-Care}}, a Survivor cannot heal themselves without one. Different Add-ons can be equipped that enhance its healing speed or durability.

Abdominal Dressing A highly absorbent pad that prevents bodily fluid leakage when applied to large abdominal wounds.
  • Considerably increases Med-Kit Healing speed.
  • Reduces Med-Kit Charges by 8.
Styptic Agent}}
Styptic Agent A white powder with coagulant properties. Apply the agent to a wound to stop it from haemorrhaging.
  • Use with Secondary Action.
  • When the Styptic Agent is used on an injured Survivor, they gain the Endurance Endurance}} Status Effect for 8 seconds.
    Any damage taken during that time that would put the Survivor into the Dying State will instead apply the Deep Wound Deep Wound}} Status Effect.
    The Survivors has then 20 seconds to Mend themselves.
  • If the Survivor takes any damage while affected by Deep Wound or if the Deep Wound timer ends, they will immediately be put into the Dying State Dying State}}.

Styptic Agent depletes the Med-Kit on use.

Anti-Haemorrhagic Syringe}}
Anti-Haemorrhagic Syringe An anti-haemorrhagic substance that stops the bleeding in a matter of seconds.
  • Use with Secondary Action.
  • The affected Survivor will passively gain one Health State 16 seconds after use.
  • The time required can be modified by Perks and Add-ons that affect Healing speeds.
  • This effect is cancelled when the affected Survivor changes their Health State Health State}} or is picked up by the Killer.

Anti-Haemorrhagic Syringe depletes the Med-Kit on use.

Refined Serum}}
Refined Serum A refined version of the Putrid Serum Putrid Serum}} that's mostly safe for human consumption. Mostly.

Press the Secondary Action button while healing with the Med-Kit to use the Refined Serum.

Up to Patch 3.6.0

Whether or not Survivor Items lost their Add-ons after a Trial depended on the situation:

  • Add-ons were lost upon using up all charges of an Item.
  • Add-ons were lost upon disconnecting from the Trial.
  • Add-ons were lost upon dying in a Trial, unless the White Ward White Ward}} Offering was burnt.
  • Add-ons were kept if one escapes with the Item that they are equipped on.

Patch 3.6.0

  • Item Add-ons for Survivors became single-use only, akin to Power Add-ons for Killers.
