Dead Man's Switch is a Unique Perk belonging to The Deathslinger.
Prestige The Deathslinger to Prestige 1, 2, 3 respectively to unlock Tier I, Tier II, Tier III of Dead Man's Switch for all other Characters.
Description
After hooking a Survivor, Dead Man's Switch activates for the next 20/25/30 seconds:
- While activated, any Survivor that stops repairing a Generator before it is fully repaired causes The Entity to block the Generator until Dead Man's Switch's effect ends.
- Affected Generators are highlighted by a white Aura.

- Buff: removed the Obsession mechanic, now activates on hooking any Survivor.
Patch 6.1.2
- Nerf: reduced the duration to 20/25/30 seconds.
- This change was due to the former synergy with Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance having been restored in the same patch.
Trivia
- Dead Man's Switch will also block Generators being repaired by multiple Survivors as long as any one of them decides to stop repairing during the activation window.
- A "Dead Man's Switch" is a common safety feature found on heavy machinery, where a switch must be held continuously in order for a machine to keep operating.
