|About the descriptions used on the Dead by Daylight Wiki
Differences to in-game descriptions: It is this Wiki's philosophy that information provided to the knowledge-seeking Players of Dead by Daylight should be as easily understandable as possible. The Wiki Guardians therefore take the liberty to rephrase and/or reword descriptions in cases of the actual effect differing from the description (e.g. time vs speed) or in cases of the original phrasing being sub-optimal, making it potentially difficult to understand without additional explanation.
Mouse-over Support: On desktop browsers, the Wiki supports mouse-over functionality for the modifier words used in the description of most Unlockables (slightly / moderately / considerably / tremendously). Hovering over them with your cursor will reveal the values behind those modifiers (Mac Users may need to highlight the modifier words).
On mobile browsers, the values are displayed in small text after the modifier words. Desktop users experiencing issues with the mouse-over may temporarily switch to mobile view at the bottom of an Article page.

|~ Mysterious Note|
There are currently a total of 25 (+1) Items featured in Dead by Daylight :
|5||Very Rare Items|
|2||Ultra Rare Items|
All Items have a set amount of Charges that are usually depleted at a modifiable rate of 1 Charge per second. Once an Item's Charges have been used up, the Item will become unusable for the remainder of the Trial.
- Main Article: Add-ons
Add-ons allow Survivors to change various properties of an Item. Up to 2 Add-ons may be equipped with an Item.
- For additional information, see Chests
The rarity of an Item affects how often it can be found in a Chest. Players will generally find more Common and Uncommon Items than their rarer counterparts. It is possible to get Ultra Rare Items from a Chest, but the chance is very slim (around 2%, as determined by Community testing).
One can increase the chances of finding rarer Items by using Plunderer's Instinct .
If a Survivor manages to escape with an Item, it will be kept in their inventory and auto-equipped for the next Trial. However, any equipped Add-ons will always be used up.
If a Survivor dies during a Trial without the White Ward Offering, their Item and any attached Add-ons will be lost.

The Flashlight is also very effective against three Killers, The Hag , The Wraith , and The Nurse . Shining a Flashlight upon a Wraith when he is cloaked or in the act of uncloaking will trigger the light burn effect, stunning him for a few seconds and forcing an instant uncloak. Shining a Flashlight upon one of the Hag's Phantasm Traps will highlight and destroy it.
