Luck is a Game Mechanic featured in Dead by Daylight Dead by Daylight}}.


Overview

Luck affects a Survivor's chances of unhooking themselves from a Hook Hook}} and freeing themselves from a Bear Trap Bear Trap}}.
It does not affect the Rarity of an Item found in a Chest Chest}}.

Some Offerings Offerings}} can increase the Luck of Survivors, either for oneself or for all of them. The same applies for Up the Ante Up the Ante}}.

Increased Luck will be shown on the Status HUD, when attempting interactions that are affected by it:

  • Only valid for actions that can fail, which only applies to escaping from Bear Traps or self-unhooking.

Perks

Deliverance}} Deliverance

After performing a Safe Hook Rescue on another Survivor, the Perk activates.

You now have a 100 % chance to unhook yourself during the escape attempt.

A successful Deliverance from the Hook Hook}} triggers the Broken Broken}} Status Effect for 100/80/60 seconds.

Slippery Meat}} Slippery Meat

You have developed an efficient way to get out of Bear Traps Bear Traps}} and Hooks Hooks}}.

Grants up to 3 extra escape attempts on the Hook.

The odds of freeing yourself from Bear Traps are increased by 15/20/25 %.

Up the Ante}} Up the Ante

All will be well in the end; you just know it. Your confidence strengthens the feeling of hope for those around you.

For each other Survivor still alive, grant a 1/2/3 % Luck Luck}} Bonus to all remaining Survivors.

Monstrous Shrine}} Monstrous Shrine

Your fervent care of the Hooks found in the Basement Basement}} has aroused The Entity Entity}}'s interest.

The Basement Hooks are granted the following bonuses:

  • 3/6/9 % faster Entity progression.
  • 5/10/15 % increased difficulty on escape attempts.
  • 3/6/9 % increased penalty to escape fails.

"A small cotton pouch filled with white chalky powder of unknown origin. Some believe it brings good fortune."

Cream Chalk Pouch}} Cream Chalk Pouch Moderately increases Luck Luck}}.

"A small cotton pouch half-filled with a cream coloured chalky powder of unknown origin. Releases a faint herbal aroma. Some believe it brings good fortune."

Salt Pouch}} Salt Pouch Slightly increases Luck Luck}} of all Survivors Survivors}}.

"A small cotton pouch filled with black salt crystals. Some believe it brings good fortune. Don't spill it."

Ivory Chalk Pouch}} Ivory Chalk Pouch Considerably increases Luck Luck}}.

"A small leather pouch displaying a straight white line hand-sewn on one of its sides. The bag is filled with an ivory chalky powder that shines under the moonlight. Some believe it brings good fortune."

Black Salt Statuette}} Black Salt Statuette Moderately increases the Luck Luck}} of all Survivors Survivors}}.

"A friable miniature statuette made of black salt representing a woman in a kneeling position offering a gift. Some believe it brings good fortune."

Vigo's Jar of Salty Lips}} Vigo's Jar of Salty Lips Considerably increases the Luck Luck}} of all Survivors Survivors}}.

"A tightly sealed glass jar containing torn human lips floating in a murky brine. Some believe it brings good fortune."

  • Slightly = 1 %
  • Moderately = 2 %
  • Considerably = 3 %


Trivia

  • Using 4 instances each of Up the Ante Up the Ante}} and Vigo's Jar of Salty Lips Vigo's Jar of Salty Lips}}, Survivors can stack Luck to 48 % (4*9 % + 4*3 %), which is then added to the base chance of Trap escapes (25 %) and self-unhook attempts (4 %).
