Change Log
Patch 2.3.0
- Buff: made the activation range 32 metres across all Tiers.
- QoL: now works like Hex: Devour Hope, in that the Perk Icon in the HUD now stays dark until the activation range is reached.
Unknown Patch
- Change: the cool-down is now variable across all Tiers.
Patch 4.7.0
- Change: the afflicted Survivor will now scream audibly across the entire Map.
Patch 6.6.0
- Change: modified the behaviour of the triggered Survivor screams to be consistent across all Unlockables:
- Survivor screams are now 3D with a maximum audible range of 19 metres (used to be a map-wide 2D scream).
- Triggers a Loud Noise Notification.
Patch 6.6.2
- Reversal: reverted the behaviour of Survivor screams to their original functionality.
- The reversal was motivated by the community's negative response to the range limit, which caused the Perks to end up weaker than before.
Trivia
- The audible scream can be used by other Survivors to determine that the Killer is running Make Your Choice.
- Make Your Choice is the only Perk that increases its cool-down duration with each Tier, rather than reducing it.
- The name Make Your Choice is a reference to the movie "Saw".
The main antagonist, John Kramer, uses the line "Live or die, make your choice!" before he puts one of his victims on a trial. - An archived version of the Dead By Daylight website[1] lists a different effect of Make Your Choice where the Survivor would be confronted with a Skill Check upon unhooking another Survivor. This would damage them if it was failed.
- This iteration of the Perk never made it to a playable build of the Game, and was scrapped during development.
