Rarity is an attribute given to all Unlockables in Dead by DaylightIconHelp DBDlogo, including Add-onsIconHelp addons, ItemsIconHelp items, OfferingsIconHelp offerings, PerksIconHelp perks, CharmsCharm Icon, and Cosmetic pieces.

Overview

Dead by Daylight features 5 regular Rarities:

  • Common
  • Uncommon
  • Rare
  • Very Rare
  • Ultra Rare

It also features 5 special Rarities:

  • Teachable (no longer used)
  • Spiritual (unused)
  • Legendary
  • Event
  • Artefact

For Unlockables, their Rarity generally follows the principle of the rarer an Unlockable is, the more powerful or useful it is considered to be.
It directly determines how likely it is for an Unlockable to spawn in the BloodwebIconHelp bloodweb and in ChestsIconHelp chests.

For Cosmetic pieces and Charms, their Rarity generally follows the principle of the rarer they are, the more elaborate, intricate or complex they are.

Regular Rarities

The 5 regular Rarities are the most commonly used ones in the Game.

Common Rarity

The Common Rarity features a brown background colour.
Bloodweb Nodes of this Rarity cost 2,000 Bloodpoints.

Common Cosmetic options are generally recoloured versions of a Character's default outfit.

With the exception of Perks, this Rarity is found in all Unlockables.

Common Perks

Up to Patch 1.5.0, some Tier I Perks would start off as Common Perks.

However, due to an error with the algorithm spawning Perks in the Bloodweb, Rarities were essentially reversed, making Common Perks nearly unobtainable unless one had obtained Tier III of most other available Perks on a Character whereas Ultra Rare Perks were ubiquitous.

As a "dirty fix", the Developers augmented all Common Tier I Perks to Uncommon, a change that remains to this day.

Uncommon Rarity

The Uncommon Rarity features a yellow background colour.
Bloodweb Nodes of this Rarity cost 2,500 Bloodpoints.

Uncommon Cosmetic options tend to be recoloured versions of a Character's default outfit with some changes to fabrics and textures. It is also the Rarity of all Clothing Pack Cosmetic options.

This Rarity is found in all Unlockables.

Rare Rarity

The Rare Rarity features a green background colour.
Bloodweb Nodes of this Rarity cost 3,250 Bloodpoints.

Rare Cosmetic options tend to change several aspects of a Character's visuals.
It is also the Rarity of Prestige Cosmetic options.

This Rarity is found in all Unlockables.

Very Rare Rarity

The Very Rare Rarity features a purple background colour.
Bloodweb Nodes of this Rarity cost 4,000 Bloodpoints.

Very Rare Cosmetic options tend to be rather complex and greatly change a Character's visuals.
It is also the Rarity of Legacy Prestige Cosmetic options.

This Rarity is found in all Unlockables.

Ultra Rare Rarity

The Ultra Rare Rarity features a pink background colour.
Bloodweb Nodes of this Rarity cost 5,000 Bloodpoints.

Ultra Rare Cosmetic options were generally those that were originally only available via a Code that had to be redeemed through Steam. However, they now include Cosmetic Sets that alter a Character's entire model.

With the exception of Perks, this Rarity is found in all Unlockables.

Ultra Rare Perks

Up to Patch 1.5.0, some Tier III Perks would become Ultra Rare Perks.

However, due to an error with the algorithm spawning Perks in the Bloodweb, Rarities were essentially reversed, making Ultra Rare Perks ubiquitous whereas Common Perks were nearly unobtainable unless one had obtained Tier III of most other available Perks on a Character.

As a "dirty fix", the Developers lowered all Ultra Rare Tier III Perks to Very Rare, a change that remains to this day.

Special Rarities

These Rarities are either reserved for special Unlockables or remain unused:

Teachable Rarity

This Rarity is no longer used.

The Teachable Rarity featured an orange background colour.

The Teachable Rarity was reserved for Teachable PerksIconHelp teachables that appeared in a Character's Bloodweb at Levels 30, 35, and 40 before the Prestige Rework of Patch 6.1.0.

Event

The Event Rarity features a gold background colour.
Bloodweb Nodes of this Rarity cost 2,000 Bloodpoints.

The Event Rarity is reserved for Unlockables that temporarily spawn in the Bloodweb during in-game Events.
It is also reserved for Cosmetic options that release during an Event.

Artefact

The Artefact Rarity features a fuchsia background colour.

The Artefact Rarity is the rarest occurring Rarity these days and was originally reserved for Cosmetic options that were designed for some select YouTubers and Streamers in 2016, as well as Cosmetics or Charms exclusive to the Developers or Fog Whisperers.

More recent examples include the Kabuki Grin" Charm, as well as the Amazon Prime Gaming Rewards of October and November 2022: the "Golden Skull Mask" for The TricksterIconHelpLoading trickster and the "Luminescent Carver" for The LegionIconHelpLoading legion.

Spiritual

This Rarity is unused.

The Spiritual Rarity features a blue background colour.

The Spiritual Rarity is unused, no Unlockables or Cosmetic options are associated with it.

Legendary

The Legendary Rarity features a light blue background colour.

The Legendary Rarity is unique to the in-game StoreIconHelp store and used solely for Cosmetic Sets that alter a Character's entire model to a different Licensed Character. These Cosmetics usually alter the Character's name and HUD Portrait.
