Description
An unnatural tingle warns you of impending doom.

Whenever the KillerIconHelpLoading killer is within 36 metres of your location and looking at you with a clear line of sight, Spine Chill activates:

  • Increases your Action speeds in Repairing, Healing, Sabotaging, Unhooking, Cleansing, Blessing, Opening, and Unlocking by 2/4/6 %.
    • This effect lingers for 0.5 seconds after the Killer loses line of sight or exits the range.

Get notified when the Killer is looking directly in your direction and standing within a range of 12/24/36 metres.

When Spine Chill is active, Skill Check trigger odds are increased by 10 % with success zones reduced by 10 % and your Repair, Heal and Sabotage speeds are increased by 2/4/6 %.

  • If the Killer is within 36 metres of your location, Spine Chill activates, lighting up its icon.
  • If there is a Terror Radius present, Spine Chill will reveal its intensity using its icon.

If the Killer is within range and looking at you with a clear line of sight, you benefit from the following effect:

  • Increases your Action speeds in Repairing, Healing, Sabotaging, Unhooking, Cleansing, Blessing, Opening, and Unlocking by 2/4/6 %.
    • This effect lingers for 0.5 seconds.

Spine Chill reveals the current intensity of the Killer's Terror Radius.

Patch 2.6.2

  • Buff: increased the activation range to 36 metres across all Tiers.

Patch 3.3.0

  • Indirect Buff: now works against Killers cloaked by the Undetectable Status Effect.

Patch 6.1.0

  • Buff: now lights its icon whenever a Killer is within 36 metres, regardless of whether they are Undetectable or not.
  • Change: removed the increased Skill CheckIconHelp skillChecks Probability.
  • QoL: added a mechanic that reveals the current intensity of the Killer's Terror RadiusIconHelp terrorRadius.
    • This change was motivated by complaints from the heard-of-hearing regarding the PTB version, who relied on the previous version of Spine Chill as a replacement for the Terror Radius.
      This change will be temporary and be removed from Spine Chill once it has been implemented as a base mechanic.
  • QoL: added a brief Linger duration of 0.5 seconds to stop the icon from flickering and make the Action speed buff more consistent.
  • Nerf: the Action speed bonus now only activates when the Killer has direct line of sight to you.
  • Nerf: no longer affects Vaulting speed, as the Developers decided that it didn't fit the theme of the Perk.

Patch 7.1.0

  • Change: removed the visual representation of the Killer's Terror RadiusIconHelp terrorRadius.
    • This is due to the Visual Terror Radius being implemented as a base mechanic.
  • Nerf: now only lights its icon if the Killer is both within range AND has a clear line-of-sight to the Perk user.

  • Spine Chill applies its effects regardless of elevation.
  • Spine Chill does not work against Victor as the Game does not technically consider him a Killer entity.
  • The flavour text is a quote that was originally penned by Rumi, a 13th century Persian poet.
  • Spine Chill also activates if The Dredge is inside a LockerIconHelp lockers within activation distance and looking at you.
