|“||A new terror stalks the darkness; her appearance strikes me as more intense than the others after but a glimpse of her haggard silhouette. Twisted and torn in unspeakable ways, with greyish dead skin stretched out over her emaciated body. Her arm is a horrid overgrown deformity capable of slashing through both flesh and bone alike. Her very presence speaks of endless torture similar to mine. I wonder - did she refuse the entity's calling until broken or did she wish for this?||„|

The Hag is a cursed Killer, able to place Phantasm Traps and then teleport to them upon activation, using her Power.
Her Perks revolve around Hex Totems . They are focused on cursing the Survivors and sapping their abilities. The curse lasts until the Survivors manage to track the Hex Totem down and cleanse it.
Difficulty rating: Intermediate (Developer) / Hard (Community)
(based on the amount of time and effort that is required to properly learn to play her and use her Power effectively)
Lisa Sherwood grew up in a quiet village, mainly isolated from the rest of civilization. The people of the hamlet were kind and the elders kept old traditions alive, often keeping the peace by personally settling the ever-rare disputes. Lisa was particularly fond of the charms they taught her to draw for safety and good fortune. One night, as she was walking home through the woods, a terrible storm struck without warning. Howling winds whipped at her hair as she stumbled through the swamp, her rain-drenched dress plastered to her skin. In the slick, wet mud she lost her footing, careening backwards and striking her head against rock. Slipping in and out of consciousness, she strained to identify the dark shapes approaching her from between the trees. That's the last thing she could remember.
Her kidnappers kept her chained to the wall in a flooded cellar. Though dimly lit, she could see others whose large open wounds swarmed with flies. It took merely a day before they returned, carving chunks from the prisoners' bodies with rusted blades, consuming their very flesh down to the bone. Most she saw did not survive long once the cannibals targeted them but somehow, deep within, Lisa persisted. Starved, infected, and mutilated after several weeks of torture, her gaunt arms became loose in their shackles. She pulled hard, the metal tearing through skin and muscle until she was free. Her flesh oozed viscous yellow pus and bones were visible beneath gangrenous wounds. She could go no further. Delirious, she thought of home; she thought of the elders. With her dying breath, she etched the symbols they had taught her into the floor using what remained of her fingers. Almost in response, a dark hunger stirred inside her. It yearned for blood. In oath, she chose vengeance.
The village's search party eventually brought them to an old shack in a swamp. Inside, its previous inhabitants had been viciously dismembered and devoured by an unidentifiable animal. In the cellar, amid rotting corpses and disconnected flesh, the elders’ charms were scrawled in blood on the floor. Lisa’s body was not among the bodies and was never found. The village was never the same again.
The Hag's Perks
These are Perks which start off only appearing in The Hag's Bloodweb . After achieving Level 30, Teachable versions of these Perks can be found:
- Hex: The Third Seal - Level 30
- Hex: Ruin - Level 35
- Hex: Devour Hope - Level 40
Once obtained, other Killers will be able to find The Hag's Perks in their respective Bloodwebs from that point onwards.
|Hex: The Third Seal||
A Hex that hinders one's Aura-reading ability.
Hitting a Survivor with a Basic Attack while the Hex Totem is active applies the Blindness Status Effect.
This effect applies to the last 2/3/4 Survivors hit.
The Hex effects persist as long as the related Hex Totem is standing.
"She touched your skin, you bear the witch's mark!"
A Hex that affects all Survivor's Generator Repair progress.
Whenever a Generator is not being repaired by a Survivor, it will immediately and automatically regress its Repair progress at 100/150/200 % of the normal Regression speed.
Hex: Ruin affects all Generators.
The Hex effects persist as long as the related Hex Totem is standing.
"A curse is upon you. It will cause your ruin."
|Hex: Devour Hope||
A Hex rooting its power on hope. The false hope of Survivors ignites your hunger.
When a Survivor is rescued from a Hook at least 24 metres away, Devour Hope receives a Token.
The Hex effects persist as long as the related Hex Totem is standing.
"If you do nothing, you have their blood on your hands. If you save them, her hunger grows."
Weapon: The Claw
The Claw is a Primary Weapon for the Hag. A horridly overgrown deformity, clawing its way through flesh and bone.
- Unlike most other Killers who wipe their Weapons clean, she lets the blood from her Claw drip into her mouth after hitting a Survivor.
Power: Blackened Catalyst
|“||The Source of The Hag's power, a blackened finger used as a catalyst for her terrible power.
The Hag bends and shapes mud to her will. With simple ritualistic drawings, she creates deceitful duplicates of herself, made from mud and decay, which she can use for various effects.
Press the Power button to bend down and draw the Phantasm Trap sign:
- The Hag can maintain up to 10 Phantasm Traps.
- Each subsequently drawn Phantasm Trap will replace the oldest one.
SPECIAL ABILITY: Teleport
Press the Active Ability button to teleport to a tripped Phantasm Trap located within a range of 40 metres. Survivors trigger a Phantasm Trap by entering its Area of Effect, which causes a Mud Phantasm to appear, yanking the Survivor's camera towards it, disorienting the Survivor.
Phantasm Traps are vulnerable to Flashlights , which can be used to disable them.
A Phantasm Trap will not trigger when Survivors crouch within its Area of Effect or are interacting with a Prop.
- It takes The Hag 2 seconds to set a Phantasm Trap per default.
- That time is divided into 3 phases: opening (bending down, 0.5 seconds), setting (drawing the Trap, 1 second), exiting (standing back up, 0.5 seconds). Only the setting phase is affected by Add-ons that affect the setting speed.
- A tripped Phantasm Trap lasts for 5.5 seconds per default.
Add-ons for Blackened Catalyst
- Add-ons support Mouse-over functionality (desktop version only): hovering over the modifier words with your cursor will reveal the values behind them.

The Hag is currently part of 1 DLC package:
- The Hag's profile is low to the ground, which you can use to your advantage if you are in areas with tall obstacles that Survivors cannot see past.
- The Hag's Phantasm Traps can be destroyed by the use of a Flashlight, However, this will give The Hag a Loud Noise notification.
- Phantasm Traps that have been triggered may also still be destroyed this way if The Hag does not teleport to them during the activation period.
- The Hag's Phantasm Traps will not trigger if Survivors crouch over/past them and/or if they are performing an action.
- Traps placed using the Scarred Hand will still have collision and can be used to block pathways.
- Phantasm Traps can be used rather aggressively, by placing them near Pallets, Windows and juke spots, forcing the Survivor to run the wrong way or even into an obstacle due to the jump-scare camera turn.
- Like the Bear Traps , Phantasm Traps can be seen if they are out on the open, especially under bright light or on a clean surface. It is recommended to place them in grass or out of line of sight.
- You can play mind games with Survivors: a Survivor may run from a triggered Phantasm Trap, but instead of teleporting to it, you can try to intercept the fleeing Survivor and attack them head on as they tend to look back at the Phantasm.
- Traps will create a false Terror Radius when triggered, even without The Grandma's Heart Add-on. You can use this to mask your own Terror Radius and approach the area of a triggered Phantasm Trap without Survivors knowing you are doing so.
- The Grandma's Heart Add-on will fully mask your Terror Radius, making this much easier to do.
- Teleporting to a Phantasm Trap kills all of The Hag's forward momentum, meaning that you are effectively slowed for a moment after teleporting.
- Since the distance you travel during a lunge is based on a multiplier of your movement speed, this means that lunges done immediately as you teleport will not travel as far as regular lunges.
- The Hag is the second female Killer.
- Like most female Killers, she has a decreased movement speed.
- The English name Lisa, a shortened version of Elizabeth, means "God's oath; God's promise" or "consecrated to God."
- Sherwood is of Old English origin and means "from the bright forest" or "bright forest"; in Celtic, it means "wild."
- Sherwood is also the name of the forest in which the legendary outlaw Robin Hood made his home.
- The Hag was the first Killer whose Memento Mori animation takes place in third person rather than from her own perspective.
- The Hag was the first Killer to not attack with an actual weapon, but instead using her massive claw.
- The Hag was the first Killer whose Perks were destructible by being bound to Totems .
- The Hag was the second Killer to place traps.
- The Hag was the second Killer with the ability to teleport.
- The Hag is one of few Killers to break Pallets and damage Generators with their hand.
- The Hag is one of few Killers to have a unique Hatch-closing animation.
- Unlike most other Killers at the time, the Hag did not step through Windows , but rather jumped through them, a mechanic now shared by most Killers of average height.
- The Hag's Phantasms always wear the same customisation option as The Hag herself.
- The Hag was leaked a couple of weeks prior to her release due to the new Daily Rituals already having been assigned to some players.
- The Hag seems to be heavily based on the Wendigo, an Algonquian myth that says those who commit cannibalism will become possessed by spirits, deformed and eventually turn insane. This is suggested by The Hag's appearance, Memento Mori, backstory, and a few Hag-related Unlockables in the game which talk about cannibalism.
