Maze Tiles, also known as "Jungle Gyms", are Structures that are featured throughout the Maps of Dead by Daylight.
Overview[]
Maze Tiles have many iterations, each with a unique layout.
They always spawn in the same general location of a Map, however, the chosen iteration may change between Trials.
Contents[]
Every Maze Tile:
- Potentially contains a Chest.
- Potentially contains a Hook.
- Contains at least one Locker.
- Potentially contains a Totem.
Most types of Maze Tiles can spawn a Generator.
Iterations[]
L-T Walls[]
L-T Walls or T-L Walls are a type of Maze Tile. They consist of a T-shaped wall and an L-shaped wall. Each wall has a Window attached to it.
- There is another short wall where a Locker can spawn.
The Grave of Glenvale Realm's version of it additionally always contains a Breakable Wall.
Pallet Gyms[]
Pallet Gyms are a type of Maze Tile. They consist a long c-shaped wall and a short l-shaped wall. There will be always a Pallet between these two walls. Said Maze Tile does not appear in Withered Isle Realm.
- There is a separate short c-shaped wall where a Totem can spawn.
- There is a straight wall parallel to the short c-shaped wall. A Hook can spawn there.
Jungle Gyms[]
Jungle Gyms are a type of Maze Tile. They contain both a Window and a Pallet. Jungle Gyms have two main variations, Long Wall Gyms and Short Wall Gyms. Long Wall Jungle Gyms have a Window on a fairly straight long wall, and Short Wall Jungle Gyms have their window on a shorter, L-shaped wall. The Window and Pallet are always on opposite sides of the Jungle Gym. The place on which the Window would have spawned in the other variant becomes a hole.
4-Wall Gyms[]
4-Wall Gyms, also known as 4-Lane Gyms, are a type of Maze Tile. This tile appears in most of the Realms, excluding the Coldwind Farm and Withered Isle Realms. It consists of 4 parallel walls with a Vault and a Pallet. The Window and Pallet have two possible spawns. If the window is on an outer wall, the tile is considered "opened." If it is on one of the inner walls, it is considered "closed." The pallet always spawns in-between an outer wall and an inner wall, both must not contain a window. The place on which the Window would've spawned in the other variant becomes a hole.
Grave of Glenvale Realm's version of it has additionally a Breakable Wall always appearing in it.
Debris Pile Gyms[]
Debris Pile Gyms, also known as Trash Pile Gyms, are a type of Maze Tile. This tile is exclusive to the The MacMillan Estate, Red Forest, Yamaoka Estate, and Ormond Realms. It is comprised of two main parallel walls on either side of the tile. The left side (as seen from the front) contains a Window vault located beside a debris pile, the right side containing a Pallet loop dissected by another pile of debris to its left.
- There is a short wall segment at the back of the tile.
- The wall hugging the Pallet contains a Locker at its rear end.
Locker Gyms[]
Locker Gyms are a type of Maze Tile. This tile is exclusive to the Red Forest and Ormond Realms. It is comprised of three segments:
- The leftmost wall is curved and contains five Lockers. A Totem can spawn beside the Lockers at the front.
- The central wall is equipped with a Window vault in the middle of the segment and another Locker at the front.
- The right segment of the tile consists of two fragmented walls. There is a Pallet between the central and rightmost wall segment at the front.
Labyrinth Gyms[]
Labyrinth Gyms are a type of Maze Tile. This tile is exclusive to the Yamaoka Estate, Ormond and Withered Isle Realms. It is comprised of various wall segments with small bits protruding out, creating a maze-like layout.
- Two of the frontal walls spawn a Pallet between them.
- The first variation contains a Window directly in front of the Pallet, the second one spawns the vault further to the left.
- There are five distinct paths which can be utilised to enter the tile.
Variant Gyms[]
Variant Gyms are a type of Maze Tile. This tile is exclusive to the The MacMillan Estate, Autohaven Wreckers, Yamaoka Estate, Ormond, Forsaken Boneyard, and Withered Isle Realms. It shares similarities in layout with the Long Wall Jungle Gyms, hence its name. It is comprised of five wall segments:
- The leftmost wall spawns a Window close to its front.
- There is a Pallet between the central and rightmost wall at the front.
- At the back, there is a wall segment between the central and leftmost wall, in addition to a wall segment behind the central and rightmost walls.
- There are three Lockers scattered about in the tile.

Trivia[]
- Jungle Gyms used to spawn with 2 Pallets and multiple Windows in the old versions of the Game. However, due to balancing reasons, this has been changed to only a single Pallet and open doorways.
- Some Realms have specific Maze Tiles that are unique to them.
- There used to be a Locker at one of the walls of the L-T Wall Maze Tile. This Locker was later moved towards a separate wall.
- However, the Gideon Meat Plant and Withered Isle versions feature them at the original walls.
- The community commonly refers to Maze Tiles with a Window on its long wall as "Long Wall Jungle Gym". If the Window spawns on the other wall, it is referred to as "Short Wall Jungle Gym".
- The Totem spawn location within the Maze Tiles can differ from Map to Map.
- Maze Tiles can be used as landmarks for orientation, due to the fact that they usually spawn in the same general location.
- There are a few Maps that do not contain any sort of Maze Tiles: Lampkin Lane, the Badham Preschools, Treatment Theatre, The Underground Complex, Raccoon City Police Station West Wing and Raccoon City Police Station East Wing.
- Garden of Joy is the only Map in the game that features 2 designs of Maze Tiles walls.
