Prestige The Hillbilly to Prestige 1, 2, 3 respectively to unlock Tier I, Tier II, Tier III of Tinkerer for all other Characters.

Description

Whenever a Generator

is repaired to 70 %, you benefit from the following effects:

Triggers a Loud Noise Notification for that Generator, revealing its location.
Grants the Undetectable Status Effect for the next 12/14/16 seconds.

Tinkerer can only trigger once per Generator per Trial.

Patch 1.3.0

QoL: Tinkerer now only affects modifiers positively.
Nerf: decreased the bonus applied to modifiers to 6/8/10 %.
Buff: Tinkerer's bonus is now additive.

Patch 2.1.0

Rework: Tinkerer now gives the Killer a noise notification if a Generator is repaired to 85 % and also reduces their Terror Radius to 0 metres for 8/10/12 seconds.

Patch 3.4.0

Change: updated Tinkerer with the Undetectable Status Effect.

Patch 4.1.0

Buff: lowered the activation threshold to 70 %.
Buff: increased the Undetectable duration.

Patch 6.1.0

Nerf: Tinkerer can now only be triggered once per Generator, instead of triggering each time the Generator is progressed back to the activation threshold after having regressed below it.

Trivia

Until its rework, Tinkerer was effectively without use on several Killers.
Tinkerer's old flavour text still addressed The Hillbilly by his Alpha name "The Crooked", rather than by his current name:

2.1.0 Rework

Tinkerer required an immense workload of additional coding each time new Add-ons were created, since the Developers had to work with a static buff and keep in mind that Add-ons without it shouldn't be too weak and those with it shouldn't be too strong.

They compared that workload to creating a second set of Unique Perks for any new Killer, something they were no longer willing to do and thus intended for Tinkerer to be reworked eventually, which happened with Patch 2.1.0.
